What did you do before creating your company?

Managing director / DemiDoo Oy.

How do you feel being the most promising ‘Startup of the Day’ per Microsoft BizSpark?

Nice to gain visibility for Cieltum and our product idea.

What is your company’s mission?

We aim to build a global social network as a generic cloud-service for life-cycle management of individual product units.

In 140 characters or less, tell us what your company does:

A social network as a generic cloud-service for life-cycle management of individual product units. Current solutions include modules for proactive maintenance planning, unit's maintenance structure, unit life cycle management and spare parts management. We tie together the information from manufacturers, owner's and maintenance companies.

How did you get the idea for your company?

Together with the founders of the company. 20+ years of working with manufacturers gave a good knowledge of today’s needs.

Tell us about your funding history. Are you currently looking for funding? If so, how much?

If so, how much?* Own equity, public funding & loan for prototype and pilot project. In a need of funding for productization and internationalization. The amount will be approx. 0,5 M€.

How many employees do you have? How many developers?

By now 7 employees, 4 of them are developers.

Are you hiring?If yes, what are you hiring for and where?

In a need of a system architect and two developers at the Q1/2011.

Which platform are you building on?Why?

Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Microsoft development tools. We like to work with new technology to ensure a long lifecycle for our product/service.

Where do you see opportunities today in the Software/Internet area?

In cloud services and global social network for business needs.

What do you think about the BizSpark Program?

Very good for startup-companies. Gives a wide possibility to utilize Microsoft tools.

Do you have any advice for young Software entrepreneurs?

Have courage to work with new technology, but keep your feet on the ground.

Who’s your role model?

A person with “Finnish SISU” (not possible to translate…).

What’s the ONE THING you would like readers to take away from this interview?

Cloud technology for social networking.
