Christian ZanderTell us who you are and your role in the company:

CTO and Co-founder.

How do you feel being the most promising ‘Startup of the Day’ per Microsoft BizSpark?

Honored! It’s great to be part of the Bizspark program. So far we received very good support and technical insights.

What is your company’s mission?

Any task you do in access rights management you can do with 8MAN within a minute (documented, structured, workflow based and easy). If you don’t use our solution “8MAN”, it’s hard to hire a good administrator.

In 140 characters or less, tell us what your company does:

Holistic and standardized access rights management for IT infrastructures: Visualization, analysis, recommendations, reporting and optimized administration (controlled by workflows) of access rights within different IT systems.

How did you get the idea for your company?

The market asked for it, and we’ve looked for it, and there was no solution available – so we did it.

Tell us about your funding history. Are you currently looking for funding? If so, how much?

Funded by High Tech Gruenderfonds and Investitionsbank Berlin Brandenburg (IBB) ProFit. Looking for 2 Mio €.

How many employees do you have? How many developers?

14 Employees, 10 Developers.

Are you hiring? If yes, what are you hiring for and where?

Developers, Support, Sales.

Which platform are you building on?Why?

.NET Platform, it’s pretty cool. TFS, Visual Studio, MS SQL Server. With TFS we got all we need and more for developing.

Where do you see opportunities today in the Software/Internet area?

There’s a fantastic market for managing access rights inside of companies, Fileservers, Databases, SAP and in the cloud services.

What do you think about the BizSpark Program?

Getting all the stuff for just 100$ for my development team offered us the chance to start our company very fast without spending too much money for the needed environment – we can simply focus on using the technologies – not on research looking for what tools to use.

Do you have any advice for young Software entrepreneurs?

Yes – don’t wait until someone will do something for you. Ask for it and pull it with the right charm and attitude.

Who’s your role model?

None – I’ve never seen a person like me.

What’s the ONE THING you would like readers to take away from this interview?

If you have an idea and a team, that is able to fulfill it – then do it. If you need to produce software, use BizSpark – it’s perfect – you don’t lose time evaluating other solutions.
