Who are you?

Hi, Im Low Ee Chiang and i am one of the founders of Global Interactive Works Pte Ltd. A Company dealing with Application Development & IT services

What did you do before creating your company?

I was a systems executive in several companies including Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd before i founded G.I.W. I have been in the Information Technology industry for 10 years.

How did you get the idea? What s the genesis?

With alot of support from my peers and the experience i have gained through out many years, i decided to embark on the journey of providing affordable IT Solutions to SMEs.

What do you sell? What is your company’s mission?

We provide customers with Application Development, Website Development, IT Solutions such as Website & Email Hosting, Colocation, Backup solutions etc. Our mission is to provide companies with application solutions to ease their workflow.

What is your market?

Companies that will use our applications such as Clinic Management Systems, Spa Management Systems, Scheduling Systems for Music Schools or Private Tuition.

Any clients? References? Partners?

Funding history? VCs? BA?

We are currently funded by a US based firm dealing with Steel Trading.

Growth? Internationalization?

Due to budget, we have not advertised but hope to do so in future. We hope to be able to sell our applications to the Asia Pacific region.

How many employees do you have? How many developers?

6 employees which also consists of me and my partner (the other founder of G.I.W). 2 developers at the moment.

Are you hiring? If yes, what? Where?

Not at the moment but i forsee we might be hiring by mid next year.

Which platform are you building on? Why?

We develop applications that mainly run on Windows (ASP.NET). There are some applications that we are using PHP to develop, it depends on the industry or customer's requirements.

Do you have any Software IP? Is there something that you’re the only one to do on the market?

Yes we have a Software IP. However the application we are doing is not the only one in the market but will be more comprehensive than the others in the market.

Who’s your role model?

Steve Jobs.

Where do you see opportunities today in the Software/internet areas?

There are many opportunities as people are turning to applications to ease their company workflow. 

Looking for funding? If yes, how much?

Yes we are definitely looking for funding. Currently our expenditure is SGD$80,000 a month. So funding for 2-3 years would at least be SGD$200,000.

What about the BizSpark Program? What do you think? Are you going to join? Why?

I love this program! It helps startups like G.I.W save on application costs and encourage IT Startups to venture into the development sector.

Any advice to young Software entrepreneurs?

Do not be afraid to try. If you don't try, you wont know.
