SSDT at TechEd 2012

If you're attending TechEd North America this week, make sure to sync up with the SSDT team!  Team members will be staffing a Cloud on Your Terms demo station in the Exhibition Hall, where we'll be available to discuss SSDT and answer any questions you may have.

Also look for the following two breakout sessions about SSDT and DACFx:

DBI309 | Exploring SQL Server Data Tier Applications

When: Tues, Jun 12 1:30PM - 2:45PM

Speaker: Robert Beauchemin

Abstract:  Data-tier applications (DAC) were introduced in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. A DAC provides a single unit for authoring, deploying, and managing the data-tier objects instead of having to manage them separately. Learn how to develop and deploy a DAC from scratch, how to create a DAC from an existing database, how to declare intent (such as which version and edition of SQL Server and the OS is required) when deploying, and how to manage DACs with SQL Server Management Studio in conjunction with SQL Server 2008 R2 utility control points (UCPs). We also illustrate deployment to SQL Azure Database using Data Tier Applications and moving data and schema with the new DAC Import-Export Service.

DBI311 | Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools: Database Development from Zero to Sixty

When: Wed, Jun 13 1:30PM - 2:45PM

Speaker: Gert Drapers

Abstract: SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) transforms traditional database development by introducing a declarative, model-based experience that supports both online and offline (project-based) database development. This session introduces SSDT and shows through a series of demos how you can develop, debug, refactor, and maintain SQL Server and SQL Azure databases from within a single integrated environment.

Thanks for your support—looking forward to seeing you at TechEd!
