The SQL Server Reporting Services team is pleased to announce the first update for SQL Server Report Builder 2016 is now available in the Download Center.
This aligns Report Builder with the new rapid release schedule you’ve seen other products like SQL Server Data Tools follow, allowing us to get product improvements to our customers faster than ever. This includes items that are reported to the team via Microsoft Connect, where customers often leave feedback or report product issues they’ve encountered.
One of the items reported to us previously this way was the inability to take advantage of the Windows “snap” functionality with Report Builder. At a basic level, this is the ability to resize any window to half the size of your monitor by dragging it all the way to the left or the right. With this release, this has been corrected and Report Builder now fully supports this feature.
We also addressed a number of items in this release that were related to creating and editing shared datasets. For example, we addressed reported by customers around default parameter values not persisting properly with a shared dataset saved to the report server.
These are just two examples of the types items we’ll be addressing both this month and in future releases. To stay up to date on all the latest news for SQL Server Reporting Services, be sure to bookmark this blog and check back often.
