VS extensions for SharePoint

A few weeks ago I talked about how we get more value out of connecting our business applications into Office and SharePoint and encouraged people to attend the Office Developers Conference in San Jose.

Yesterday, at that conference, we announced the public availability of Visual Studio extensions for Windows SharePoint Services v1.1 (VSeWSS).

This is an add-on to Visual Studio that makes it easier to code-up solutions for SharePoint (e.g. Web Parts, List Definitions, Site Definitions, etc) and currently targets Visual Studio 2005.  Next month, we’ll also release versions of VSeWSS localized to German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese Traditional, Chinese Simplified, and Korean. Later this summer we are planning on delivering the next version of VSeWSS that will have support for Visual Studio 2008.

You can download v1.1 here and get more information on this tool as well as other SharePoint news at the SharePoint Blog.

Namaste!
