Free is good, right? We have two different events running in January. I’ll be at both of them and will be looking forward to seeing you there.
Here’s the first one (I’ll update this post with the registration link as soon as I get it):
MSDN Unleashed – Silverlight 2.0 Hands On Labs for DEVELOPERS
Join us from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday, Jan 15, 2009 at QuickStart at 16815 Von Karman Avenue, Suite 100 Irvine, CA 92606 (949-486-1351). We are hosting a new type of event for DEVELOPERS. This event consists of hands on labs, with a pre-configured computer set up for use for each attendee. The topic for this session is Silverlight 2.0. These labs were written by experts from our Silverlight product group in Redmond. The event will consist of three hands on labs as listed below:
Silverlight and Connected Applications
Silverlight and Browser Integration
At this event you can expect to work with Silverlight 2.0. We will provide support for your work via proctors who are either Microsoft Certified Trainers or working Silverlight 2.0 developers (or both). Attendees will also be able to get copies of all of the labs to take home with them (bring a USB key if you want to take home the labs). Admission is free, but seating is limited, please register ASAP. If demand warrants we will add repeat sessions and we do plan to run this event in other locations as well.
The second is this:
XAML Fest – 2 day event for DEVELOPERS and ARCHITECTS
At XamlFest you’ll learn about the platforms the tools and processes used to deliver differentiated user experiences. It’s a chance for you to mingle with UX minded Microsoft folks as well as industry leading design integrators. It’s also an opportunity to pick up a free copy of Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Studio 2 for you attendance. It will be held at the Microsoft offices at 3 Park Plaza, Suite 1600, Irvine, CA, 92614 (949-263-3000) from 9am to 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan 14 and 15, 2009.
Each XamlFest day will start with interactive sessions by Microsoft and our design partners, followed by a free lunch and a chance to network, have some fun and win prizes. Each afternoon will be geared toward assisted development with instructor-led walkthroughs, or, better yet, come with your own project in mind and we’ll help kick start your very own proof of concept!
Please note that each attendee will need a laptop to take part in the assisted development sessions.
We’re asking that each company send no more than 3 people to this event so that we accommodate as many as possible. We’re allowing only 50 attendees to ensure we deliver a good experience during the assisted development sessions. To register, please send an e-mail with the names and e-mail addresses of your attendees to firstname.lastname@example.org.
