The Rise of the Rest

Interesting read from Newsweek about the decline of the US as a world power. This article is an excerpt from the author's new book titled 'The Post-American World'.

What are the metrics used to determine ‘decline’?  The Saudi economy is doing great, but women are banned from voting and driving cars.  China’s industrialization is fueled by government owned land, slave wages, and the lack of environmental laws which creates choking air and raw sewage that can be seen 20 miles out into the ocean.  I’m not even sure why he mentioned Russia, which has double digit inflation, a puppet government, and a rusting military.  So, the rest of the World is ‘catching up’ by repressing their people, destroying their environment, and ignoring any infrastructure improvements.
