SQL Server 2008 for Business Intelligence

SQL Server 2008 Business Intelligence

I am finally home from a couple weeks of traveling and am basking in the glorious California sunshine.  I am starting a big, new project - a second technical book.  The working title is 'Building Business Intelligence Solutions with SQL Server 2008'.  I've got two co-writers - Mike Benkovich and Matthew Roche.  I am writing the sections dealing with the business case for BI, SSAS (Analysis Services) and DM (Data Mining); Mike is writing on SSRS (Reporting Services) and other clients, such as Excel, SharePoint and Performance Point Server; and Matthew is writing on SSIS.  I am pretty excited to be working with two talented guys like Mike and Matthew, and I believe we are going to produce a strong book.

Our intended publication date is September 2008.

As I begin to work on this book, I am pleased to see a good amount of advance information about SQL Server 2008 available on the Microsoft public website.  I believe the information is pretty well organized and useful.  I'd be interested to hear whether or not you agree.

Also, did you read my first book?  'Foundations of SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence' APress - If so, what information was missing?  What topic(s) would you like to read more about?
