SharePoint, SharePoint, SharePoint – I’m in the middle of a 12-part webcast series (SharePoint for Developers) and feel like I am just scratching the surface. In the world of SharePoint, there really is so much to talk about. And, I don’t seem to be the only one in this conversation – note my mailbox, after just subscribing to a single, internal distribution list for SharePoint information (and this is approximately only one week’s worth of mail).
Another interesting aspect of this list is to understand how SharePoint technologies are being used in some of our other products, VSTS, etc…
One of my favorite things to do while in the airport (where I’ve spent quite a bit of time lately!), is to to read from this DL. It gives me great insight into common production issues and questions. An interesting aspect of this list is that it really does focus mostly on development (typically customization) questions around SharePoint.
Properly implementing SharePoint from an administrative focus is entirely another issue. For more detail information on administrative topics, such as security, scaling, etc…TechNet has a large amount of information.
This week’s topic on the “SharePoint for Developers” series is an introduction to the BDC. Other topics remaining are development of custom web parts, site templates and more.
Join me and my MSDN presenter colleague, Mike Benkovich this Friday for our webcast.
