Long time, no blog...

Yes, I admit it: It's been a long time since I blogged. Part of the reason for this has been the creation of a new interoperability set of materials that I've been working 24/7 on - the other part of the reason has to do with travel.

What I have been trying to do is to categorize all of the areas in which Microsoft products have some level of interoperability with other products and/or technologies - like an A-Z of interoperability - and I admit it's been a fascinating exercise. Some of this has been re-using materials that I am more than familiar with (for example, both J2EE and mainframe based interoperability). Other areas have been researching identity, infrastucture areas of interoperability and the management of applications that span multiple platforms. As for the medium, this currently exists as a set of documents and powerpoint materials. I need to decide how best to finalize this and publish the message, but this is a story that most definitely needs telling.

Travel-wise, it's also been an experience. We completed a partner and customer based event in Australia (in Melbourne) in early March and I have been holding interoperability workshops in Singapore and Korea this week for Microsoft partners - with an amazing response. After all this travel, I'm definitely looking forward to getting home and collecting my thoughts though. Just in time before the next trip I imagine... ;-)
