Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 2.0 is now available

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 2.0

The latest version of the standalone OLE DB Provider for DB2 is now available as part of the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack (August 2008) at the following link:

The following is an excerpt from the Installation Guide.htm file included with the DB2 provider:

To install Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 you must be running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Evaluation Copy, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Developer Edition, or Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Evaluation Copy. The same requirements for these products apply to the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2. Please see the documentation of these products for the complete list of Software and Hardware requirements.

The main goals of the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 2.0 release were:

- To add SQL Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 compatibility
- To add support for recent DB2 platform versions
- To include customer discovered issues that have been fixed since the OLE DB Provider for DB2 1.0 and OLE DB Provider 1.0 with SP1 versions were released.
