How much does Bing Maps cost?

I've been asked this a few times by people thinking about integrating the Bing Maps platform into their apps.

So the answer is – "it could be free for you" . In the licensing FAQ it states that one of the pricing models for Bing Maps is "Usage Based". That is, you pay for how many transactions or sessions your site records against Bing Maps in a 12 month period.

If we look in the full Terms of Use, you'll find more detail on this Usage Based licensing. Assuming you are a commercial organisation these terms state that you can use Bing Maps on your web site without entering into a licensing agreement as long as your application is an unrestricted public facing web site that does a limited number of transactions per 12 months, and you meet some other criteria... if that's you, go check out the other conditions!
