Silverlight 3 Offline CHM released!

Download the MSDN offline docs for Silverlight 3 here. The CHM is nice if you're offline plus it's faster than the online content, has an index, and only contains Silverlight content. The plan is to update this CHM at the end of every month, so stop by when you want to download an update.

Please post a comment if you have any feedback, thanks!

IMPORTANT! If you open the CHM and cannot view content, do the following to resolve the issue:
- Right-click the CHM file, and then click "Properties".
- Click "Unblock".
- Double-click the .chm file to open the file.

Has this file been updated since 7/8? The date still shows 7/8!

Ben, no it hasn’t been updated since 7/8. I actually uploaded it back on the 9th, but didn’t blog about it until now. It was being linked to from several other sources though.

I do plan to update it at the end of every month. The next update should be around the 30th.

    Thanks,

    Sam

Thanks Sam; Just wanted to make sure you weren’t uploading an older file.

Let me ask you this. Which one is more complete, the on-line or off-line version?

Looking forward to the next one. Please post a message on the SL.net when it’s ready!

    Thanks!

Ben, the CHM and online are the same right now. There might be a few hyperlinks scattered around the CHM that aren’t hot (show up as bold) compared to the online. The reason for this is that the CHM is a "walled off" set of Silverlight documentation versus the online which is just part of the uber-MSDN docs.

Going forward, I’m syncing my CHM updates to when the website refreshes (next refresh hopefully on the 30th). Assuming everything goes as expected, the two sources of docs will refresh with identical content within an hour or so of one another.

When the CHM refreshes, I’ll be sure to at least post to our blog (which shows up on silverlight.net).

Thanks and please let me know if you run into any issues.

    Sam
