Retailer Insights Through Search & Visualization

Costco, which caters to suburban families, according to a report in the Seattle Times hopes to add a new demographic through improved technology and offerings such as organic food. According to the report, Costco is taking incremental steps to draw in a younger demographic.

Search data can give excellent insights into a retailers demographic mix. It can provide information about the search traffic at specific times of the year: Does Costco search traffic spike more during the Thanksgiving season or is it higher  during Christmas. What age groups and gender are searching for specific brands and where. I used Bing Ads Intelligence to analyze & visualize Bing search data in Excel.
