Office 365 & Outdoor Brands

There has been a lot of buzz in the last few days around Office 365 deployments in the Retail Industry. For instance, Scandinavian outdoor brand, Helly Hansen, best known for apparel that is the optimal combination of purposeful design, protection and style, has chosen Microsoft Office 365 as its communication and social platform.

Employees consistently felt the pain when trying to make conference and video calls, share large files, or communicate with an increasing workforce spread across countries and time zones. To stay at the top of its game, Helly Hansen knew it needed to help its teams work together and connect with one another at a moment’s notice. Read about it at the Microsoft News Center

As the retail industry evolves, the need to stay up to date and maintain a competitive edge is a matter of brand survival. Another brand that has adopted Office 365 is Patagonia. Patagonia, a global provider of outdoor apparel apatagonia_logo_hirez[1]nd gear wanted a new solution for unified communications to help employees around the world work better together. The IT staff also needed to upgrade its aging messaging solution. When the company heard about the next-generation online services from Microsoft, it decided to evaluate Microsoft Office 365, which includes the latest version of the Microsoft Office Professional Plus desktop suite. Based on a pilot test of Office 365, Patagonia expects employees to communicate more effectively and make better design decisions. Patagonia also believes Office 365 will help it reduce IT costs, improve business continuity, and support its environmental initiatives. Read the Patagonia Case Study

Icebreaker, a New Zealand-based company that manufactures popular outdoor and active wear, has 4000010764[1] eight global offices and distributes to stores in 43 countries. Its 320 corporate employees struggled with an overloaded and unreliable server for internal communications, document management, and calendaring solutions. Relying heavily on email, shared drives, and Skype to collaborate and communicate was slowing down deployment of important initiatives and creating confusion and redundancy during a major growth push.

Microsoft Office 365 ensured that Icebreaker would have a single reliable, accessible, and intuitive platform for its company's first intranet. The implementation was deployed quickly, resulting in easier international collaboration, significant time savings for both employees and IT managers, and a single, unified solution for delivery of internal scheduling, project, and other critical corporate data.
