BLOG noun [short for Weblog] (1999) : a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments, and often hyperlinks provided by the writer

 

Merriam-Webster definition

 

Merriam-Webster just announced that the word BLOG was the most looked up term on its website. Considering that the current estimates of the number of blogs exceeds 4.8 million, thats not surprising. I personally rely on RSS feeds for managing information overload and subscribe to several key feeds for internal information. I also found Addy Santo's BlogWave an excellent utility to create an RSS feed from Sharepoint folders.
