Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure and OMS portal for Log Analytics – 11/02 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 11/3, 00:30 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 11/1,  and that during the time that it took to resolve the issue 339 subscriptions and 252 customers experienced failed or delayed query results.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to unexpected high backend load.

We understand that customers rely on Azure Log Analytics as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are investigating issues within Log Analytics. Root cause is related to unexpected increased load. Some customers continue to experience slow or failed queries to their data in their workspace. Initial findings indicate that the problem began at 08:00 UTC on 01 Nov 2018. We are working to restore service, there is no workaround at this time.
