Weekly Mish-Mash...

I sometimes post links to interesting articles, and various similar things including neat online deals. Instead of spreading them over several articles and postings, I decided to reduce the noise by posting a "Mish-Mash" post once or twice weekly. So here is my first post :)

  • I have to admit, the whole LINQ stuff comming up with the 3.0 framework is really neat. Saw this article which goes over some basic LINQ patterns. Can't wait to start playing with these. LINQ and XLinq Patterns
  • "Electronics Arts, the world's largest video game publisher, settled a California class action lawsuit over unpaid overtime on Tuesday to the tune of $14.9 million...." Well, this was actually posted about 1 week ago. But it is interesting to see how some "abused" video game developers managed to finally get their way. Work ethics within MSFT are much better than average but I know how the EA developers felt from my previous employment. The whole "you're paid a fixed salary, and since you're expendible, you are expected to work 80hours/week attitude just has to go". EA Settles Overtime Suit
  • "With only one week to go before E3, Playstation magazine "PSM" has stated that it believes the PS3's launch price will be $399 -- somewhat less than the pricing implied recently by SCEE's VP George Fornay...." More PS3 Price Speculation and "Nintendo: "While the code-name Revolution expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that seperates videogame players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games... and each other. But you..." Nintendo Revolution is now "Wii. With E3 next week, it should be an interesting week of hype and news in the industry.
