Self-Publishing. Update (11/23/04)

Thought it was time for a little update. There isn't that much going on but there are a few points I wanted to tackle...

  • I have now ordered some letterhead for the company and am still waiting on my business cards. They have shipped last week so I hope to get them this week. :)
  • I have had some questions in regards to my publishing company's website (www.ParadoxalPress.com). If you go there, you'll see a GoDaddy.com web page. Although I have purchased the domain, I have yet to host it somewhere and put some content. I am currently working on some basic content and hope to have something up and running within a week or so.
  • After several discussions on-line and learning more about the issues self-publishers are facing in regards to using POD, I have decided to get quotes for small to medium offset print runs. Once i get some figures back, I plan on posting a more detailed analysis. Don't get me wrong, I still believe on the future of on-demand printing but some of the hurdles are still a little steep! At least steep enough for me to consider other options.
  • Considering more traditional printing options also involves considering more traditional distribution and warehousing channels. At the moment I am mostly considering Biblio Distribution but am scouting at other alternatives.

As you can see, I am making progress but there is allot of variables to consider. I will keep you all posted as there is more developments.

NOTE: I am still open to other authors who have good computer related book ideas (or completed manuscripts). Although there are a few authors who have shown some interest there is no completed deals at the moment and hope to publish 2-3 books the first year (including mine).

NOTE2: Please stop begging for Gmail accounts! I get a limited number of invites and all this begging is ridiculous. I will not send invites to complete strangers unless you send me a check in the mail (or through PayPal)! :)
