Career opportunity: Driving BizTalk Server technical sales and strategy in the East Coast and Central Coast

Both of these jobs report to my good friend John Wyss in Redmond although you would be physically located on the east coast or in the central region of the USA.  That's pretty unusual, and pretty cool.  The goal here is to provide a regional ownership across the USA working very closely with the local technical sales teams.  We already have our west-coast man, Marty Was on this team.  You must be experienced with high-touch integration selling and super deep and technical enough to get down and get stuff done (which as we are finding significantly reduces the # of qualified candidates). As a Regional Technical Program Manager in the BizTalk Customer Response Team you will be afforded the opportunity to innovate successful tactics to help drive successful implementations, by getting involved early in opportunities as they develop. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with solid technical background and proven track-record in business-to-business (B2B) including electronic data exchange (EDI) protocols and formats, enterprise application integration (EAI) and Business Process Management (BPM) space to play a key role in our success as a business.
The Regional Technical Program Manager team’s mission is to “Create and drive a national model for generating BPI revenue through delivery of services that enable both customers and partners to successfully adopt BPI based technologies. Work with and successfully develop virtual account teams across the districts that both deliver and extend the execution of the national model within the local account base and partner communities”.
This is a new position within BPI Enterprise Core. Yes, this is a product team position reporting to the development team in Redmond while remaining in the field. You will be responsible for building and managing relationships across the respective districts with the goal of driving and accelerating BPI opportunities through the sales pipeline.
Core job responsibilities include:
Ø Assist the district/subsidiary in increasing customer satisfication through successful product positioning, being the local voice of the product group.
Ø Provide backup and support for BPI revenue opportunities in the local districts.
Ø Collaborate with BizTalk Marketing team to develop and deliver product evangelism and roll out new content and tools for the districts in support of customer outreach.
Ø Work with local sales resources to support the development of a vibrant local partner community.
Ø Collaborate and assist local sales resources (i.e. TAM, Account Reps, ESG, Account TS, Product TS, Inside Sales, PAMs, etc) to help manage lead generation and pipeline, by identifying where product team resources can be brought in earlier in engagements for architectural and design review. The goal is to ensure successful implementations and build a wide variety of credible references.
Ø Work with District BMO, sales resources and, partner community to deliver BPI based customer trainings, workshops and solution presentations.
Ø Deliver BPI focused developer and C level training, workshops and solution presentations.
Ø Work with local account teams to develop local capacity and support of POC, ADS and Pilot delivery capabilities.
Ø Deliver ADS, POC, Pilots and other pre sale activities to assist in closing revenue.
Ø Work with the local sales resources to develop partner capacity in the region.
Ø Deliver and coordinate support and services between local resources the BPI Customer Response Team in Redmond.
Ø Provide technical support including product technical training onsite for pre sales engagements and develop local capacity to deliver same.
Successful candidates will have 8-10 years of IT industry experience in integration and application solution development. Candidates will have a deep understanding of BizTalk Server 2004 and Visual Studio .NET which includes either hands-on proof of concept, pilot or production implementation experience. Depth understanding of how Microsoft Enterprise Account Teams are structured, rewarded and managed in the subsidiaries is required. Candidates must have excellent leadership skills, collaboration skills, negotiation skills and, have demonstrated the capacity to influence without authority.
