Makes you proud to be a Kiwi

Peter Jackson et. al take the show at the Oscars with all 11 for 11.  That puts LOTR right up there with Ben Hur and some ship movie.  A great start to what is going to be a huge week!  While Peter Jackson was self-deprecating of his previous efforts on stage at the Oscars I still have fond memories of BrainDead for reasons someone out there has probably long since forgotten.

In light of all the excitement I'm feeling super generous so be sure to check back on Tuesday morning and be in to win!

Oh. and I'll address some of the comments (good ones) on the previous post. They require a more detailed explanation...

No fair! It’s not on TV here for another 3 hours.

Now I will be ordered out of the house by my girlfriend who doesn’t know who won.

    Damn Kiwis 😉

  2. Neil Cowburn says:

In fact, LOTR has surpassed Ben Hur and that Celine Deon vehicle: Ben Hur was nominated for 12 and won 11 Oscars; Titanic was nominated for 14 and won 11.

  3. Sam says:

    Long Live New Zealand.

(they must have forgot to thank me last night, Billy Crystal said that everyone had been thanked in New Zealand now…)

  4. jdzions says:

Man, and I thought LOTR-mania in New Zealand was bad last time I was there; the whole country (all 75 people and 75 million sheep) is going to be insufferable. Can’t wait for my next trip. 🙂

  5. Nic Wise says:

Dont worry, Jason – we’ll make sure if you come down for TechEd this year 😉

  6. Andy James says:

Just remember the book was English!

  7. Tony says:

Good start for us too! We even had an Oscar up in Québec for the Babarian Invasions (must see movie btw)

  8. Tim says:

"Just remember the book was English!"

Pretty funny! Now that LOTR is under his belt, in the past but definitely not forgotten, the true test for Jackson is ahead: King Kong.

Talk about expectations being high for Jackson!

    Should be interesting. 🙂
