Cannot connect Office Communicator 2007 R2 to Office Communications Server 2007

You cannot connect to an Office Communications Server 2007 using an Office Communicator 2007 R2 client.

There are architectural changes introduced into Office Communicator 2007 R2 that are only compatible with Office Communications Server 2007 R2.

On Office Communications Server 2007, you can select to block Office Communicator 2007 R2 clients from connecting.

What has happen to your developers? They have got some kind lazy -pills? Otherwise it is very hard to understand that why there are no compatibility for old server version.

It should not be rocket science to add clients a check the server version and behaves like that.

Hope you are not planning to share the pills with Office and Outlook teams!
