Windows Developer’s Conference 2013 was a huge success!

We have recently arranged massively successful Windows Developer’s Conference 2013 in IDB Auditorium, Dhaka on September 14, 2013 in spontaneous presence of 300 attendees. This much anticipated conference was aimed to fulfill the needs of growing large Windows Phone and Windows 8 app developer community. With the rapidly growing mobile computing user base, there is a huge opportunity for Bangladeshi young and aspiring app developers to take share of the billion dollar global market. Windows puts your apps in more hands – smartphones, tablets and PC, and because we have a very large pool of .NET developers in Bangladesh, it was about time they embraced Windows Phone and Windows 8 app development. This daylong conference is designed to cater technical students, professional .NET developers and wannabe entrepreneurs to help jumpstart with their next big career decision and contribute to the local economy.

Despite super bad weather in the beginning of the day, although we have got 791 RSVP for the Facebook event, we could only accommodate 300 technical students and developers due to limited seating capacity. Mr. Secretary of Ministry of ICT surprisingly gave a brief keynote over telephone due to his inability to make it to the event due to something he had to inevitably attend to.

Excited Nokia people also put up a device showcase at the event – free lunch and coffee made the experience even more comfy. More surprise was waiting for all till the later part of the day, was to see Omar Faruk, a 12 year old smart boy asking an intelligent question which made himself stand out of the crowd – Windows programming indeed made youth very excited.

Conclusion

I was very thrilled to be in this conference, because Apps is a big international market, and Microsoft promises to help local professional developers and technical students realize their full potential on Windows apps development. We are expecting to see many more events like this in near future. Last but not least, to my utter surprise Communication Specialist of World Bank, Ms. Mirva Tuulia Moilanen also attended the event. And I enjoyed the event to the fullest!
