Moving on from Web Platform and UX Technical Advisor to Application Platform Product Marketing Manager

Hello there!

Allow me to start by saying that I’m very sorry for the lack of posts on my blog for the past couple of months, it’s been heck of ride for me – in a good way 🙂

I would like to thank all the readers of my blog for the past 2 years! You guys have been awesome!

I would also like to thank everyone(our customers, partners, communities, Educational Institutions, various Government Departments of Malaysia, colleagues from Microsoft Malaysia and Microsoft Worldwide) who I had a chance to work with – it has been a real pleasure for me. Thank you again so much for that wonderful opportunity 🙂

While this may sound like i am going away, I’m not…

Today marks my last day as the “Senior Web Platform and UX Technology Advisor for Microsoft Malaysia”. From the following working day(1st Sep ‘09), I’m taking on the role of “Application Platform Product Marketing Manager for Microsoft Malaysia”. As you can tell from the title, not only the platform has changed(Web to Application) but my core role also has moved towards Product Marketing as I planned for my career…

I’m super excited about this role and am again looking forward to working with all you guys 🙂

And as I said before – I’m not going away, I’m still here so please feel free to call upon me anytime if I can help in anyway 🙂

I will also be changing my blog from “The Web Platform @ Rohan Thomas’ Blog” to “The Application Platform @ Rohan Thomas’ Blog” – if you have objections to that of if you think I should start a new blog to do that, please do let me know 🙂

I would still continue to post customer/partner success stories and business and marketing related stuff on my blog *in addition* to a mix of Application Platform, SQL Server, BizTalk server, etc. Although, quick warning here – over the next 2 weeks, I have a lot of internal reading up, analysis and prepping to do, so you might not see the action this the 3rd week of September!

I am also in the process of getting a couple of personal blogs, SU, squidoo up and running too, I will post more info on that here too…

Let me also take this moment and thank all who have helped me grow and enabled me to take on my new challenge - it’s gonna take a long blog post and a lot of time to list down all the names , but here are the few of those important people: Yasir Yousuff, Wai Mun Ng, Tyson Dowd, Nadiah Tan Abdullah. You guys are the best!

Thanks again folks, and looking forward to your continuous support 🙂
