Nike got it right with it’s Social Network – but is Nike listening?

I’ve posted many times on my blog(here, here and here) how Nike’s Social Network (https://nikeplus.nike.com) has been rocking my world.

Now Business Week has more insight on that here

Clearly this phenomenon has proven itself and is moving full speed ahead and others are trying to play catch up…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy for Nike – I’m a fan after all… But the concern I expressed in my previous post still kinda bothers me… Yes, Nike hit it right on the sweet spot in terms of getting itself to go social but is Nike really listening?

<RANT>

My Nike sports band that I *absolutely* LOVE, is giving up on me after 3 months :-(

After calling the Nike office in KL, they told me that there is a global recall of the product and no one followed up. They asked me to exchange the watch for something else and wait for the new edition…

I don’t wanna give up my Nike+ … *wailing*

I want to stick to Nike, but if Nike disappoints, I won’t be like the lonely kid who sit alone in his room because his toy has been taken away and no other company makes that toy.

Why? Cause times, they are a-changing…

And why not? With this model proven, others should jump right in.

Adidas is catching up with Nike with it’s micoach – looks pretty much up to par with what Nike+ does!

I’m just wondering if I’d have to change camps – I don’t want to…

Till next time,
