Security starts with consistent development practices

If you want to develop secure reliable software, you have to start with a known quantity. Every time you try to re-write or re-invent a piece of code, you run the risk of introducing vulnerabilities.  As I always say, use tried and tested components whenever possible. If you could get a whole bunch of missions critical industry proven components that you could drop into your applications, for free, you would wouldn’t you?!  Well, Enterprise Library from Microsoft Patterns and Practices is just that. And they just released Ent Lib  version 5.
