The Visual Studio Toolbox Debuts on Channel 9

Today, the debut episode of the Visual Studio Toolbox appeared on Channel 9. This is a weekly show hosted by myself. It focuses on tooling both inside and outside of Visual Studio. By inside, I mean things that ship in the box. By outside, I mean extensions you can download or build yourself. The goal of the show is to make you a more productive developer.

Take a look and let me know what you think. What tools do you want to see covered in future episodes?

    Hi Robert,

I really like the idea of having a series on VS "Tools". I look forward to your series.

However, watching this first installment, the resolution of the video is really poor on my machine. Even in the default embedded size, the text is totally unrecognizable. In the expanded view, I just get a bigger image of junk.

    Any way to improve this?

  2. Hi Bill,

Channel 9 uses smooth streaming when you watch the video in the browser, That way, the video keeps playing and doesn't constantly stop while it buffers. The downside is that for code heavy demos, the quality suffers. It's a tough call, but that is the tradeoff the C9 folks have chosen. I think the way to improve this is to download the high quality video and watch that.
