CorasWorks Workplace Suite for SharePoint

The CorasWorks Workplace Suite is a toolkit of modular, configurable components that are add-ins to SharePoint and make it easy and cost effective to transform the basic collaboration platform of SharePoint into an integrated workplace of business solutions. At the heart of The Suite, is its extensive ability to tie team workspaces together to create structured business applications. In addition, the Suite integrates the Portal functionality with the team collaboration capability to provide a seamless, integrated place of work. The result is that the "Suite" now makes it easy for people to get to where they want to be without the costs and the risk.

Capabilities of the Suite

The CorasWorks Workplace Suite - Spring 2004, consists of 8 modules, containing 25 components ("web parts"), and 15 solution templates. Their extensive configurability provides you with hundreds of possible applications to meet your needs without any custom programming. The core capabilities of the Suite fall into 3 categories:

  • Roll-Ups™ : These components are the key information connectors for your workplace. They "roll up" information from SharePoint lists and libraries across your entire environment to present you with consolidated views of information. The extensive configuration options allow you to create customized slices of information and display it in many different formats. They are the core capability used to tie multiple workspaces, such as many project sites, into complete business solutions.
  • Navigation: These components connect all of your SharePoint sites into an integrated system by providing users with a complete view of all of the sites in the environment and providing easy, hierarchical navigation - without any manually updating of site links.
  • Notification: These components allow you to drive business activity, connecting people to information, through email notification. Often called "ad hoc" workflow you are now able to move the work to people while keeping the information in the one place.
