Microsoft's Open Specification Promise

In September, Microsoft released the Open Specification Promise for thirty-eight Web service specifications, and the Virtual Hard Disk (VHD) Image Format Specification, effectively releasing those technologies to the community for implementation at no risk of infringing on Microsoft patents.
