Accessing Team Foundation Server Remotely via the Internet
The Team System UE blog has a draft help topic (Team Foundation Server and Basic Authentication) to accompany the recent release of Service Pack 1 Beta that explains using Basic or Digest authentication with Team Foundation Server and the ISAPI filter included in SP1 Beta to allow remote access over the Internet. The documentation for configuring Team Foundation Server to support this scenario is coming soon.
Team Foundation Server with Service Pack 1 (SP1) can support Basic and Digest authentication modes. By configuring your Team Foundation Server deployment to use HTTPS with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Basic or Digest authentication, you can support external connections to your Team Foundation Server without having to use a virtual private network (VPN) connection.
