Bibliophile

For a number of reasons I’ve decided to start a new category on this blog for books reviews – Books. I’ve just completed my first review, which I’ll post next. But first, some background…

To me, software books represent persisted knowledge – my paper brain if you will. I’m of the mindset that I need not commit to memory everything that I read, only where to find it again. Consequently, I am better at asynchronous communication (such as writing) than I am at synchronous communication (such as public speaking, especially extemporaneous public speaking).

I used to buy a lot of software books. If you ask my wife, too many software books. My offices at home and at work are loaded with books. An embarrassingly high number of the books are not worth keeping, or even purchasing. But there are a few I return to again and again.

You may agree or disagree with my reviews, but I welcome your comments either way. If you would like to suggest a book to review, please do so.
