This time of year, most people make promises to themselves about what they’ll accomplish in the new year, which usually involves some life-altering change they wouldn’t otherwise attempt. This year, I’m not playing. New year’s resolutions for me have always been a list of things left undone. By making a new year’s resolution, I’m usually setting myself up for failure. I hate that feeling you get come December when you haven’t accomplished it and it seem foolish to keep pursuing them year after year. I refuse to fall victim to it again this year. Instead, I’m making a lifetime resolution to never make another new year’s resolution and “…just enjoy this ride on my trip around the sun…” I’m certain I can accomplish that much.
