The Inimitable Irish Community

A toast to the community! For the first half of this week, I took part in Microsoft's Connect conference, which brought together .NET community leaders and "Evangelist"-types like me from all over Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Ireland and Northern Ireland were tremendously well represented at Connect.  We had no less than 8 attendees from this island, and one Canadian tag-along pretending to be Irish :)

John Brennan wrote a summary of the event and I posted some photos here.

I was honoured to be given the opportunity to speak on behalf of the Developer and Platform Group about the incredible recent growth of the developer community in Ireland.

While that presentation is on my mind, I wanted to tip my cap again to all the community leaders, for their enviable combination of head, heart and muscle that they consistently pour into the community.

And hats off again for the presenters at our many events, who, with an effort I can personally appreciate, share their experiences and offer us challenging things to discuss.

And, while we're toasting, here's to the whole community: the thousands of people involved, especially the dozens and dozens who regularly attend community presentations and events.  You're the reason this all is happening in the first place!
