Live goes Live - More on the Windows Live Ideas

Windows Live Ideas I spent a little more time this afternoon with the other Windows Live betas. These are some preliminary thoughts:

Windows Live Safety Center and Windows OneCare Live are just good ideas. If they’re executed well, many people will be very thankful.

I've previously mentioned Windows Live Local (formerly Microsoft Virtual Earth). It's still cool.

I tried Windows Live Favorites beta, which has a del.icio.us feel to it: it lets you store your bookmarks ("favourites") online. My first impression was that I like the del.icio.us community feel better, and its emphasis on tags. I also found Windows Live Favorites a little invasive. For full integration, del.icio.us only asks for 2 buttons in my Links toolbar. WLF wanted me to install the whole MSN Search Toolbar first, and even then, I found it confusing to figure out how to quickly bookmark a page. I happily concede that that could be Beta-related grief.

All in all – some very intriguing stuff has just gone Live!
