Upcoming Labcast: Developing Smartphone Applications in Managed Code

I've just discovered a phenomenon called a Labcast, where participants not only watch a Webcast (audio and video delivered over the web), but also are provided with a lab document and encouraged to build a sample application over the course of the session.

It's a really cool idea. If you've been part of a Webcast before, you've seen how participants can send messages back to the presenters to influence the discussion and ask questions. So this is taking it one step further: transforming the experience into a distributed, hands-on lab.

Here's the description of an upcoming Webcast on Smartphone development being hosted by the folks at Learn247

With the advent of .NET Compact Framework and Windows Mobile 2003, Smartphone application development could not be simpler. In this session we will explore the features of Compact Framework specific for Smartphone development. Most of this session will be dedicated to hands-on work, building your very own snake game.

More information on the Learn247 Webcasts and Labcasts is here, and if you want to sign up for the Smartphone session, you can register here. The Labcast will take place on the 30th of November.
