.Net 3.0 Discussion (Who defend it?)

Since Soma announced the official rename from WinFx to .Net 3.0 everyone is talking about it here, here and here.

I don't want to participate, it has been a MS decission and we will accept it, anyway I'm looking for some place in the world with a good explanation and "defense" about this rename.
