Extract your main OS partition into a VHD for transfer to new machine or to Hyper-V

I have been running on a dual boot solution between Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. I now have a new laptop and would like to have the same environment that I have since customized so well. I would have to start from scratch. Solution? Disk2Vhd.exe, a utility that will copy your whole OS instance and volume images into a VHD for use under Hyper-V.

This will be very useful as I plan to install Windows Server 2008 R2 console mode as the guest and launch my Win7 VHD therein….of course I will have to deal with lack of Hibernation and all!
