SharePoint 2010 Error: An error occurred in the claim provider configured for this Site Collection

In Central Administration you might run into this error where non of the users configured are resolved. This looks and feels very bad but the cause and fix is very minor.

 

Simply add the present URL as an Alternate Access Mapping for the Central Admin web application and all should be good.
