I get this question a lot from people who get stuck when trying to crawl content that belongs

to a different domain or system that requires a different set of credentials than the service account. Most people expect this option to be on the content sources edit page, which might make sense. However this option is specified as a crawl rule that has to match the content source path.

Once you specify the path, make sure to select the option that says “Include all items in the path” in order to enable the authentication options as follows:
