Yesterday I authored a post and video illustrating how to build a Task Page App for Office in 7 minutes. The purpose was to show how quickly apps can be developed for Office using the new app model (especially compared to traditional Office plug-in development). I was asked to do a similar video on Mail Compose Apps for Outlook. For my Mail Compose App, I decided to connect to Bing Translation Services in the Azure Data Marketplace. The app allows a user to translate text and add the translated text to an email message. I realize translation is already built into the Outlook client, but this would be useful in other Outlook apps and OWA. Also, development experience (not function) was the purpose of the post.
If you want to build your own Translation compose app, you can follow along in the video or download the completed solution HERE.
