When you install Business Contact Manager 2010 (X64), you receive the following message:
"You must uninstall other versions of Business Contact Manager before installing this one"
The customer had previously installed a 32 bit version of Business Contact Manager 2010, which was later un-installed. It seemed that they were a few registry keys that hadn't been removed (during the un-install).
We were able to resolve the issue by backing up and deleting the Business Solution eCRM from the following registry hives :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Wow6432Node > Microsoft
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Wow6432Node > Microsoft
Note : We had to look under the Wow6432Node because the user was running a 64 bit version of Windows 7.If the user is on a 32 bit version of Windows you’ll need check for the same under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft
