For those of you who haven’t heard, Microsoft is creating a new agile software development process called MSF Agile. MSF Agile is part of the next generation of the Microsoft Solutions Framework version 4.0. This framework is in the process of being revised to incorporate two very concrete software development processes. It will continue to be a framework for many types of projects including infrastructure and development projects. However, MSF version is being updated to reflect the evolution of project and risk management as well as true iterative development.
Today, several of the MSF master trainers and members of the VisualStudio development team met to discuss the evolution. The meeting was quite productive and the results will be unvailed shortly. In essence, the project world is changing and MSF is changing too. As for MSF Agile, we completed build 70 last week and this build will be appearing shortly in VisualStudio TeamSystem Beta 2. This should be available in the spring.
For those of you that want a glimpse of MSF Agile, I will be presenting it at Web Services Edge, Software Development West, and TechEd over the next few months. Stop by and see what is happening with this new Microsoft initiative.
