30 Halloween Games in 30 Days?

A local game developer of Deep Space Exile recently decided to attempt to create 30 Halloween themed games in 30 days, to all be released by Halloween.  When I first heard this, I thought, “Man, what an awesome idea”, but as you start to think about this a little more, you start to realize how ambitious of a goal this is.  I mean I’ve only published a few games in the last year, how in the world can you do 1 a day for a month.  Also, wouldn’t you just run out of ideas?

First off, without ambitious goals, how would we ever learn more, get better, and learn to move faster?  Ambitious goals are the way that we push ourselves.  What sense of accomplishments do you get from goals that are easily met?  The real accomplishment is achieving goals that no one else thought you could meet, sometimes not even yourself.

Regardless of how challenging of a goal this is, let me just say that Deep Space Exile is well on their way!  I checked in last night to find out that they have already created and submitted 5 games!  This is only in the last week or so!  All 5 are published to the Android Marketplace with 4 of them already in the Windows Phone store and one waiting approval.  Five games in and there are still two more days before we even reach October.  Those unrealistic goals aren’t looking so unrealistic now are they?!
