New job, new blog look, new blog purpose

After spending three and a half years on the Visual Studio Deployment Technology Group, I've decided to move on and try something different.  I've joined the Visual Studio Extensibility team.  The new team is focused on helping developers extend the Visual Studio shell.  The Visual Studio Industry Partners (VSIP) program has been around since Visual Studio 2005 and the team recently shipped the latest Visual Studio 2008 SDK for developers to build on top of VS 2008.

It's an exciting time as over 200 partners have signed up with the VSIP program and there are hundreds more building extensions on top of Visual Studio.  The VS SDK contains a ton of samples, tools, and documentation to help you get started.  Additionally, the team's created some web casts for common extensibility tasks: https://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/bb507746.aspx#extensibility.

I plan on revamping this blog to focus on extensibility issues and to announce cool features and samples we'll be adding to the VS SDK.

I'm looking forward to working on this team and perhaps you'll see me give an extensibility talk someday at Tech Ed or the PDC.
