Description Relief Central – from Unbound Medicine Relief Central™ is a free mobile and web resource developed by staff and friends of Unbound Medicine to assist relief workers, first responders, and others called to serve in disaster relief situations around the world. Relief Central includes the CIA World Factbook, the USAID Field Operations Guide, MEDLINE Journals, and RSS feeds from the CDC, Red Cross, United Nations, and FEMA. Relief Central is a volunteer initiative launched by Unbound Medicine employees that seeks to deliver need-to-know information to relief workers in the field. We welcome feedback on this version and ideas for additional content and tools. [World Factbook] The World Factbook from the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) contains detailed information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 266 world entities. [Field Operations Guide] The Field Operations Guide from the USAID delivers disaster assessment and response information and includes chapters and appendices ranging from information on populations at risk to commonly used acronyms, all arranged in an outline format. [Relief News] Relief News puts the latest news at your fingertips with a collection of RSS feeds from trusted non-profit groups, international organizations, and government agencies. Feeds are included from the Red Cross, United Nations, US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), US Federal Emergency management Agency (FEMA), and ReliefWeb, and United Nations. [Disaster Relief Journals] Disaster Relief Journals, a subset of MEDLINE Journals, provides citations and abstracts from the latest issues of trusted disaster relief journals.
