About the Conference

Join us for a day of developer-oriented technical sessions, featuring Microsoft Silverlight 2, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Visual Studio 2008, Expression Blend and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. These exciting technologies enable entirely new types of applications to be built in record time.Discover the ability to create rich, visually stunning, interactive content and applications that run on multiple browsers and operating systems with Microsoft Silverlight 2. You will also learn about the benefits of Microsoft Silverlight from a developer perspective and get an introduction to building Microsoft Silverlight applications using JavaScript and C# using Microsoft developer and designer tools. In the session on Building WPF applications, you will learn the basics of building WPF applications in the Visual Studio 2008 WPF designer, get a clear view on when you should work in XAML code and on the Visual Studio design surface to build your WPF application, and see how you can use Microsoft Expression Blend in conjunction with Visual Studio 2008 WPF designer. The presentation on .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 will be a running stream of demonstrations focusing on new features and functionality in the new Service Pack for several of the key areas of .NET Development today, including Web Development (ASP.NET), Database Development (ADO.NET), Web Services/SOA (Windows Communication Foundation) and User Experience (Windows Presentation Foundation). Finally, we end the day with a 90 minute Architecture Panel discussion and Q&A session for any Microsoft developer technology related questions that you might have.
