WEBCAST: Microsoft Open XML Format (Developer Overview and Standardization Update)

Now that OOXML (ISO/IEC 29500) has become an ISO standard, government agencies interested in committing document creation, management, and archiving to a standard format have OOXML.

Microsoft in particular offers a set of "Platformic" tools and API to make the manipulation of an ISO-complaint OXML document easier!

The 2007 Microsoft Office System adoption of an XML-based file format addresses key workplace issues with changes that affect the way we approach solutions based on Microsoft Office documents. This new file format, called Office Open XML Formats (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), improves file and data management, data recovery, and interoperability with line-of-business systems. During this webcast we will learn the benefits of the Office Open XML Formats and explore how users can exchange data between Office applications and enterprise systems using XML and ZIP technologies. Any application that supports XML can access and work with data in the new file format. The application does not need to be part of the Microsoft Office system or even a Microsoft product.

Please join us to hear Doug Mahugh and Zeyad Rajabi from the Office team deliver standard and API-specifics on this very relevant technology development.
