About the Conference

Join us for a day of developer-oriented technical sessions, featuring Microsoft Silverlight, Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO), Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) and Windows Communication Foundation. These exciting technologies enable entirely new types of applications to be built in record time.As a web developer, crossing over to the rich internet application (RIA) development arena can be quite daunting – especially if you are used to pure HTML/DHTML as your user interface (UI) and you’ve had your hands in all facets of the UI. This session will demonstrate how to separate design from application logic using Visual Studio 2008 and Expression Blend 2. The session will also cover the design patterns Silverlight 2.0 leverages (Page-Controller Pattern, Visual Studio Solution), demonstrate how to manipulate UI elements with managed code and show various developer tasks such as calling web services from your Silverlight 2.0 application, dynamically creating objects in C# and accepting user input with HTML objects. You will learn to leverage the Microsoft Office Platform to build custom applications with VSTO, create and integrate workflows into everyday applications using Windows Workflow Foundation. This session will also demonstrate how WCF, a unified programming model for building service-oriented applications can be used to build secure, reliable, transacted solutions that integrate across platforms and interoperate with existing investments.

These sessions will target Developers, Architects and Web Designers be very much demonstration oriented, and will be delivered by seasoned developers with experience in Government and Public Sector. Seize this opportunity to immerse yourself amidst these exciting new technologies!
