Background

Visual Studio 2008 (codename: “Orcas”) is the next version of the industry leading development IDE focused on the .NET Developer and the Microsoft Platform.  Visual Studio 2008 will allow you to build solutions for multiple .NET Frameworks (legacy to current), ASP.NET Web Development, AJAX Web Development, Office Development and of course Window Forms development.

Abstract

Today’s talk is almost all demonstration and will give you an idea of some of the new features for the Visual Studio-based Web Designer and Web Developer. Learn how web development with .NET will continue to improve and evolve, and talk about some of the upcoming features and how best to use them.

  • A peak at the new ASP.NET AJAX features
  • JavaScript Intellisense & Debugging improvements
  • How VS 2008 will allow you to target a specific version of the .NET Framework (2.0, 3.0, 3.5) from within the IDE.
